OUR STORY

Memphis, TN

The name Redwest Builders Group LLC carries a piece of family history and a quiet tribute to Memphis.

Red West was the longtime friend and bodyguard of Elvis Presley. He was part of Elvis’s inner circle for many years and became a familiar figure in Memphis because of that close connection to the King. But to our family, Red West was something more personal. He was a friend.

Red was very close with my grandmother, Ann Davis, during their time in Memphis. Their friendship meant a lot to our family, and over the years he helped us in ways we never forgot. The name Redwest is a small nod to that relationship and the place where those memories were made.

When it came time to name the company, it felt right to carry that story forward. Redwest Builders Group is a tip of the hat to Memphis, to the legacy surrounding Elvis, and to a man who treated our family well.

The name also reflects how we try to do business. Red showed loyalty, generosity, and character toward our family. We believe in returning that same spirit to the people we work with today.

Around here, we try to do the same for the people who trust us with their homes and projects!

DAKOTA DAVIS

Founder & CEO

I started Redwest with a simple goal: “Make life easier for builders by delivering the kind of materials and craftsmanship I always wished someone offered”. I’ve spent years in the timber world learning how to source, finish, and build with wood that actually performs in the real world. Today, Redwest brings that experience straight to your jobsite.

Whether it’s a single custom beam, a full home package, or hard-to-find specialty lumber, I focus on clear communication, reliable timelines, and products that look right and install cleanly. My name is on every order, so I treat each project like it’s my own home.

If you need quality materials, dependable craftsmanship, and someone who actually answers the phone, that’s Redwest. Let’s build something!

Milling cedar, black walnut, and white oak for on-site projects led to close collaboration with local craftsmen and a respect for thoughtful reuse of materials. Afterward, Tim served as General Manager of Bluegrass Grill, further sharpening his operational leadership and creative problem-solving. Today, he leads wood and operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and building work that lasts.
